Herb Infused Lotion

Spring has got me in a making mood. On a recent trip to eastern Oregon, I picked a Juniper tree branch on a friend's land. It smells so good. Juniper has anti-inflammatory properties so I wanted to add it to a new lotion. So, I soaked it in some grapeseed oil and heated the oil to help extract the essence.

Rosemary oil because it hydrates the skin, which helps oil production. It also provides and antibicterial action to help fight acne. It's antseptic properties help with eczema problems.

Lavender as it not only smells beautiful but also helps lessen acne as a bacteria fighter, as an anti-inflammatory it reduces wrinkles. Along with being antimicrobial and antifungal, lavender also reduces stress and anxiety, which we all can benefit from anytime.

Carrot seed oil for it's vitamin A,C, and E. Vitamin A is skin mending, Vitamin C boosts collagen, and Vitamin E is moisturising, and also is used in the aid of repairing sundamage and scars.

My base is made up of coconut oil, beeswax, and shea butter.

Shea Butter is filled with vitamin A and E. Also rich in fatty acids which aids in clearing the skin of excess oil.

Lastly, I added non-nano zinc powder to add a little sun protection, as we all need it no matter the weather.

I use a double boiler set up on my induction burner to melt and blend everything minus the zinc. When the beeswax absolutely, completely melts, I remove the lotion from the heat, and transferr into a tall bowl to whip in the zinc.

It's just so beautiful, and unlike my nightcream, this lotion is soft. It smells absolutely wonderful and makes my skin so soft.

As always my friends,
